An online consultation designed for DJs who want to compete in party-oriented DJ battles or those who just want to improve their craft through a battle judge’s review, regardless of the their level. Watching a video set together and reviewing it live from the judges point of view will help you understand how performances are being analysed, what the judges are looking for, what criteria they use and how to stay yourself and showcase your own style within all of that. You’ll receive a detailed opinion about your skills, technique, creativity, originality, musical selection and stage presence, as well as advice for further work. We cannot guarantee anyone winning, but based on the experience of our instructors, who have many championship titles to their names, we can assure that this type of cooperation with an expert significantly increases the tempo of ones progress compared to those who work alone and learn from their own mistakes.

Requirements:

• video recording of the set according to the following criteria, which allows detailed analysis:
  • maximum lenght of the set = 20 minutes
  • resolution at least full HD (1920×1080) and perfect quality sound recorded directly from the mixer
  • single shot, showing the entire person [not just hands] and all of the equipment, from an angle allowing us to see exactly what the participant is doing
  • no cuts, changes of the shot, animations or visual effects which make it difficult to analyse
  • internet connection, camera and microphone allowing smooth and good quality online meeting

The consultation includes:

• getting to know each other, establishing the participants goals and motivations
• getting to know the characteristics and rules of the battle in which the participant is interested
• explanation of the judging criteria
• watching the set together with live commentary
• detailed review from the perspective of an international battles judge [recording of the meeting is possible]
• identifying the participants strenghts and weaknesses
• evaluation in terms of originality and possible help in terms of avoiding copying other peoples ideas or overplayed musical selection
• advice for future work
